  • Road Safety Week

Mon 27 Nov 2023 Mrs Collins

Last week, the children thoroughly enjoyed investigating how to keep themselves safe when travelling to and from school. They have walked around the local area and noted changes that could improve road safety in Kingswood, including a safe place to cross and slower traffic. Inspired by this information, the children created road safety posters. Two posters were chosen as the winning examples from across the school- congratulations to Faith and Kyrie! Their posters were shown in the Stroud Times Online.  Stroud Times Article We had a very informative assembly on Friday morning with Sarah Laming, Gloucestershire's Schools Travel Officer.

  • More Music Enhancement News

Fri 31 Mar 2023 Wendy Collins

On Thursday the children took part in samba workshops. It was bold, loud and a great deal of fun!

A video of some of our children performing is available under our 'Children- Video Resources' Tab.

  • Music Enhancement Week

    Mon 27 Mar 2023

This week we had a music enhancement week with lots of opportunities for children to have new experiences.

On Monday, Dan Pacini, a former pupil of our school (left in 2013) came in to show us his instruments: an acoustic guitar, a banjo, a mandolin, a bass guitar, a synthesiser, a thumb piano and a musical frog. He helped us create our own mini Kingswood band using these instruments. It was great fun!

  • Ofsted success!

    Fri 13 Jan 2023

I am delighted to be able to share the report from our Ofsted inspection, which took place before Christmas. We have always known Kingswood Primary School is a special place to be, with caring staff and enthusiastic children, and now it is official! It is particularly pleasing to see the exceptional behaviour of our pupils recognised by the Ofsted team. They are a credit to us all. I would like to thank all of the staff and Governors for their continued hard work since the previous report. The improvements they have made have had a significant impact on the progress and wellbeing of the children and they continue to be a truly dedicated team. Thank you to you all for your support. We are privileged to be part of such of wonderful community and look forward to continuing to provide an exciting and stimulating education for your children as we build on the current successes of the school.

  • Hogwarts Christmas Feast

Wed 14 Dec 2022 Mrs Collins

Today has been a magical day at Kingswood Primary School! Thanks to the generosity of the Kingswood School Association and the Kingswood Village Association, the children were able to have their very own Hogwarts Christmas.

In October, Evie and Ada from Birch Class realised that the seating in the school hall at lunchtime was limiting the number of children who could sit together. They realised that if we had long tables and benches, we could sit a greater number of children together and have a more enjoyable lunchtime experience. They also thought that the tables and chairs would make the hall look like a banqueting hall, and there the idea was hatched! Both girls wrote to the KSA and KVA, requesting funding towards the cost of buying new tables and benches. Both charities made very generous contributions towards the cost and the tables and benches were delivered last week.

This morning we felt it was important to learn more about owls if we were going to have a true Hogwarts experience. We were visited by Jenny from Wren's who taught us a lot of interesting information about her owls.

Christmas lunch was served to the whole school today, under a canopy of magical twinkling lights. The children had an experience that they will never forget and the staff loved the opportunity to dress up!

At Kingswood School, we feel lucky to be part of such a lovely supportive community and would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas!
