Practising sounds
Every child in Oak Class has been given a Phonics and Reading Pack. In there you will find their phonic folders with information for parents about each phoneme that has been introduced. It is important that your child practices recognising each phoneme.
The phonic fans in the pack have a number of uses in supporting the recognition of phonemes.
- show your child a phoneme and ask them to say the sound it makes.
- say a grapheme (the sound the letter makes) and ask your child to find it and show you on the fan.
