This week we will be using the story ‘The Scarecrows Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson again.

Monday 18^th May

Recap the story. Today I would like you to research invitations. What information would you find on an invitation and why is it important? Have a look at some wedding invitations online and plan your own invitation for Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay’s wedding.

Tuesday 19^th May

Using your planned ideas, make your invitations. Remember to decorate them and use your best handwriting.

Wednesday 20^th May

Recap the story. Today I would like you to research wedding cards. Have a look at some wedding cards online. What messages do they have inside? What messages and information might you need to write in the card? How are they decorated? Plan your own card to send to Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay.

Thursday 21^st May

Using your planned ideas, make your card for sending to Betty and Harry. Remember to decorate them carefully and use your best handwriting.

Friday 22^nd May

Use today to finish off any activities you have not managed to get completed. If you have managed to do all of your English work over the past few weeks I would like you to think of the two stories we have been using this term. Both were written by Julia Donaldson. Which book has been your favourite and why? Write your answers in your Busy Book and include a picture of the front cover. Can you think of any of her other books?
