As a maintained school, Kingswood Primary follows the National Curriculum for Languages:
We currently teach modern foreign languages in KS2 (Years 3-6), with lessons being taught by a combination of our own school staff, as well as language specialists from our local secondary school, KLB. Our current provision involves teaching both French (throughout KS2) and Chinese (Years 5&6).
The children learn about foreign languages in a two year cycle as they progress through the school. At the same time they are also introduced to the culture and traditions of the languages studied.
