What a lovely Harvest festival we had this morning! Everyone did so well and a special well done to everyone in Sapphire class for performing our poem so well.
You've also done very well in writing out your stories in English this week, I'm looking forward to reading the final results next week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Harvest Song
1 There is a farmer who stands in his fields,
And he sees all the work to be done.
He has been watching for many a month,
He’s been waiting for this day to come.
CHORUS
There’s a song to sing as the harvest comes in,
To the One who gives sunshine and rain.
Let us all join in with a thank-off ering
For the harvest that’s gathered again.
2 There was a time when the fields were prepared,
And the good soil was carefully ploughed.
Then came the day for the farmer to sow
And the seeds were all scattered around.
CHORUS
3 There was some time for the farmer to wait
As the seeds slowly grew out of sight.
Then came the day when the first shoots appeared,
And the farmer was fi lled with delight.
CHORUS
4 Now is the time when the crops are full grown,
And the farmer must gather them in.
He’ll need some help ’cause there’s lots to be done,
And it’s hard to know where to begin.
CHORUS x 2

We've had a great time this week diving into our new book 'Leon and the Place Between' in English, they Year 4s have been smashing rounding in Maths and we've been exploring how we know so much about Stone Age times in History.
For those of you who are interested, the Reading part of our curriculum pages now has a link to a good website with recommendations for good books for each year group. I've included it here as well in case you want to have a look!

Well done on another fantastic week! I am very impressed with all the hard work I've seen, especially in our English lessons where we have started to plan and write some lines for our sunset poems - everyone has been so creative!
Make sure you have a look at our homework page for the updates on a couple of small changes we've made, I will also be adding dates to the homework pages so it is easier to see which homework matches which week.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

We've all had a great first full week back to school, I'm very impressed with how well the new Y3s have all settled in and the Y4s have been a great help, being kind and showing them the ropes!
We also had a great computing lesson this week, starting to use Scratch and doing some programming.
