KSA (Kingswood School Association)
The KSA is a tiny band of enthusiastic parent volunteers who are committed to making the experience of all of our pupils the best it can be. They hold many different events throughout the school year to raise additional funds for the school. These include discos, a Christmas fair, a scarecrow trail in the village and our highly exciting Break the Rules Day in school!
As a school, we are incredibly grateful for the efforts of the KSA because often the funds they raise go to support enrichment events that really broaden the children's experiences while they are in school. The KSA currently fund our Whole Class Ensemble sessions. In terms one and two, our Year 5 and 6 children are taught to play a brass instrument for ten weeks by a music specialist. In terms three and four, our Year 3 and 4 children learn violin, and in terms five and six, our Year 1 and 2 children learn samba.
Alongside this, the KSA also put funds towards school trips to reduce the cost and make it affordable for all. They have also paid for the whole school to see the pantomime in Cheltenham and to watch a film at the Wotton cinema.
The members of the KSA also work with other charitable organisations within the village to raise money. We have been incredibly fortunate that when the Village Inn held their winter ball, they were able to donate £2000 to the KSA, and have raised a further £400 from a quiz night. The Heaven of the South have donated £650, and £540 was raised at the Kingswood Village Association beer festival.
