Oak Class English Home Learning Challenge; Week beginning 11th May 2020

 

This week we will be using the story ‘The Scarecrows Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson. Many of you will have a copy at home, for those who do not I have attached a link to a PowerPoint presentation of the book below.

Monday 11th May

Read the story ‘The Scarecrows Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson. Which is your favourite part of the story? Why? Draw a picture of your favourite part in your Busy Book.

 

Tuesday 12th May

Recap the story. Reginald Rake is not a very nice scarecrow. What does Reginald Rake do that is not nice? How would you describe Reginald Rake? Can you describe him? Remember to use good describing words (adjectives).

 

Wednesday 13th May

Recap the story. Using the adjectives (describing words) make a wanted poster for Reginald Rake. Make sure you include a description of what he looks like, what he has done that was bad and who people should phone if they see him.  

 

Thursday 14th May

Recap the story. Harry and Betty make a list of all the things they will need for their wedding. When do people write lists? In your Busy Books write a list of all the times you can think of that we write lists.

 

Friday 15th  May

Harry and Betty are going to have a big party to celebrate their wedding. What might they need for their party? Write a list of all the things you think they should buy for their wedding party.
