As part of our whole school PSHE lessons we have been using SCARF: online resources that support primary schools in promoting positive behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, resilience and achievement, through the values of:

Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship.

This term every class is looking at rights and responsibilities.  To support this work please follow this link for more information and age-related activities that can be completed at home:

Take One Picture project - 2022

The children enjoyed learning how to make willow baskets as part of the Take One Picture project this year.  Each class made a beautiful basket for their classroom.  In KS2, children also researched willow trees and how they have been used historically and are still used today.  They made fact files and created some super artwork.  The project will now be submitted to the National Gallery in London.

Take One Picture Project - 2021

This year we are, again, taking part in the National Gallery’s Take One Picture project.  As part of their lockdown homework the children looked at the painting The Battle of San Romano by Paolo Uccello. The feedback from the pupils was that they were particularly curious about the central figure (Niccolo da Tolentino) and his flamboyant hat. With this in mind we decided to make hats the starting point for our work this year. Specifically we are thinking about hats that tell us something about their owners.

Lots of parents and members of our local community have shared their hats and stories with us (virtually) and we have designed and made our own hats too.
