Creative and Expressive Arts (Art & Design, Music, Dance)

Our "Creative and Expressive Arts" curriculum includes learning about the following curriculum areas: art and design, music, drama and dance. We teach the specific skills of each area of the arts and then apply them to work done in other curriculum areas, such as the speaking and performing strand of English, or the topic work from the "Understanding the World" curriculum.

We believe that teaching the arts is incredibly important because they enable children to express themselves and develop a greater understanding of the world. Teaching the arts has the power to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, allowing them to learn new skills and to use their creativity. Children have rich imaginations and should have the time to use them in as many ways as possible.
