Music

At Kingswood Primary School, we love music! We value the skills involved in learning to read music and play an instrument, and provide as many opportunities as possible for our children to do this.
We use the Charanga music scheme to teach weekly music lessons in class. As well as this, all children in the school take part in WCET- Whole Class Ensemble Tuition. This is provided for us through the Gloucestershire Music Hub. At present, Year 5 and 6 learn to play brass instruments, Year 3 and 4 learn the violin and Year 1 and 2 learn to play samba drums. Each year we aim to ensure that one of our classes has the opportunity to play their instrument at the Cheltenham Music Festival.
Alongside this, we provide access to private music tuition during school time. This takes place in the Abbey Gatehouse- a wonderful, serene place to hone those musical skills!
