Week 4

This week at Forest School we made up our own woodland story using the pictures and soft toy characters we found hiding around the site.

A Forest Adventure

Once upon a time there was a little rat called Mason. One sunny day Mason went for a little walk through the Forest of Dean. A squirrel came swinging from the trees to see Mason and joined him on his walk. A friendly dragon came by and asked if he could join the friends. ” Can I join you walking?” asked he dragon politely. As they went on their walk the 3 friends met a raccoon and he joined them too. They came to a pond where they saw some bubbles rising in the water. Suddenly up popped a duck! “Hello, can I join in with you?” asked the duck. “Of course you can” replied Mason the rat. The group set off walking again. All of a sudden, a scary eagle flew down and tried to eat Mason the rat! “Oh no!” everybody gasped. The squirrel threw nuts and the dragon breathed fire at the eagle. Mason ran away and hid. His friends were very worried and decided to look for him.

A lovely little bird flew over the worried group of friends and said “I want to join you but I don’t want to walk. I will fly up above you and look for Mason. I can also look out for the eagle and show you the way through the Forest of Dean.
Mason was still running away when he met Amy the hedgehog. “Why are you running?” asked Amy. “I am running because an eagle tried to eat me and now I have lost my friends.” “I will help you find them” said Amy. Mason and Amy started their search for Masons friends. All of a sudden, an angry wolf jumped out on Mason and Amy. “I will eat you.” shouted the wolf. Amy the hedgehog spiked the wolf on his nose. The wolf let out a howl and ran away into his den. Raccoon, duck, dragon and squirrel hear the wolfs cries and run to investigate the noise. Then they spotted Mason. “There you are” said raccoon. The little bird said “I can’t help you anymore. I need to get back to my nest and look after my babies. I need to keep them warm and get them food. Follow the path and you will be safe” She flew off back to her nest. As the group walked along the path, two foxes came out from the trees. “Can we join you walking?” asked the foxes. “Of course” replied Mason. Walking along the path the group come across a giant spider’s web. Sat in the middle was a big spider. “Where are you going to?” Asked the spider. “We are trying to find our way home” replied the spider. “Come to the side” said the sneaky, sly spider trying to get the friends to leave the path. As soon as they left the path they got stuck in the sticky web the spider had built. The forest fairy suddenly appears. She waves her wand and the spider disappears. The fairy magics them out of the web. “Where are you going?” asked the fairy. “We were trying to find our friend Mason but now we are lost.” said he dragon. The fairy waves her wand and gives a reindeer some magic. All the friends climb onto the reindeer and he led them out of the forest. “What an adventure!” said Mason.
