The fourth and final Wotton & Dursley District event took place with 32 of our children taking part in the races. Over the course of the four dates, 45 different children have competed on behalf of our school - this is a remarkable level of participation and team spirit as it equates to nearly two-thirds of our children in Beech and Birch class. As a school, we provide more competitors than any of the other schools in either the small or large school categories - a fantastic achievement!
As a school this commitment enabled us to achieve 1st place in the junior girls section, 2nd place in the junior boys, 4th place in both the senior girls and boys and 3rd place in the Small Schools overall. Congratulations to everyone and many thanks to parents and families who come to support in what is often terrible weather! Many thanks also to Ron White, Helen Gibson and our merry band of helpers who come to run with our children at the cross country club each Friday after school.
Three of our runners (Amy, Charlie and Molly) will now also be invited to the county championships to compete on behalf of the Wotton & Dursley area, which will be taking place at KLB in February.
