“On Friday, we went on a big coach to the Cheltenham Literature Festival to see Cressida Cowell, the Children's Laureate. Everyone was euphoric! She told us all about her childhood and how she got the ideas to write her books from her summer holidays in Scotland. She used to pretend that the hills were dragons! Afterwards, we went into a colossal tent and she signed the books we had bought. She was really nice and we asked her lots of questions. It was a lovely day and I will never forget it!” Grace H - Beech class
Maple class also had a great time, seeing Francesca Simon, at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. She told us all about how she comes up with ideas for stories using other known stories, real events and from her imagination! We were so lucky to hear her read a Horrid Henry story from her new book called the Zoom of Doom! We are all inspired to have a go at our own story writing back at school and maybe at home too.
