Parents are invited to share their views at regular appointments wit the class teacher, and additional meetings with the SENCO are also available, so that all parties can be made aware of developments.
As children become old enough to understand their role in this partnership, specific targets become part of their daily (or weekly) experience. The targets set by teachers should reflect the "next steps" required for success.
In our small school, all staff are able to maintain a dialogue with parents and carers. Key messages, progress statements and information about difficulties should come through the class teacher, SENCO or headteacher as appropriate.
