Mrs Collins Considers

Although we are a small school, we are incredibly lucky to have such a wide range of clubs for our children to attend. Obviously, the big news at the moment is our fantastic new breakfast club, which is free to all pupils from 8.00-8.30 every weekday. We are delighted with the number of children attending this, along with the superb way that they conducted themselves when being interviewed by BBC Points West and BBC Radio Gloucestershire on the opening day of this club.

Our after school clubs are also free and run by a range of staff and volunteers. Last term, we were extremely lucky to have Japanese club, run by a pupil from KLB School. We are currently in talks with their Chinese department, and hope to be able to run a Chinese club in term 6. This gives our children a wonderful opportunity to learn the basics of a language that they can learn in secondary school, alongside working with future peers and teachers.

Our sporting prowess is definitely improving, and this has to be in part due to our fantastic cross-country and football clubs. Many thanks to our parent volunteers and Forest Green Rovers for their support with this.

This term we are starting choir club, which will be run by Gabriel from the Gloucestershire Music Hub. Again, he is volunteering his time and we are extremely excited to see how our children's singing skills develop!
